Back to Children are People Too

Excerpt

The chapters in this book take you on a journey through the steps of a unique approach that I developed to self-help, life-coaching and parenting. These steps, which I call the Pyramid of Success, will help you achieve the ultimate goal of reaching your full success potential. As you read this book and begin to feel educated, enlightened and empowered, you can observe yourself climbing to the top of the Pyramid of Success, one step at a time.

Step 1: Planning your success

During this step, I will walk you through devising a plan that will begin with learning who you really are as an individual.

Step 2: Organizing a path to change

In this step, you will discover innovative ways of doing things and begin to develop new behavior patterns.

Step 3: Putting your goals into observable measures

In this step, you will document your goals. By writing them down on paper, you are putting your goals into observable measures, making you more likely to achieve them. When people write things down, it serves as an affirmation or declaration of those goals.

Step 4: Turning your goals into action

By setting realistic goals and writing down ways of achieving them, you will be able to turn these goals into realities. During this step, you begin to work with your children by helping to put their goals into action. I will teach you how to become a life-coach to your children in order to direct them through the rest of the steps in the pyramid, which will guide them in mastering their life plans.

Step 5: Integrating intra-personal self-improvement and inter-personal social interaction skills

There are eight factors incorporated in this step. These factors are all addressed in Parts Two and Three of my book. When you master these skills, you will unlock the key to maximizing both you and your children's successful potential. First, you will learn why intra-personal factors of self development are crucial for happiness and success; these are internal traits within yourself and your children. These factors include self esteem, attitude, motivation and a sense of empathy toward others. When these intra-personal skills are uncovered and developed within you and your children, your chance of reaching success is greatly enhanced. In Part Two of my book, I have included chapters that will help you develop these skills. You will discover these secrets: of how to cultivate these skills within yourself and your children. You will also learn why each child is special and how to recognize the strengths within your children. Once you have mastered these self-development skills, you will feel more enlightened.

Next, you will learn how internal factors within ourselves impact our inter-personal skills. Inter-personal skills involve interactions with others and our surrounding environment. In Part Three, I have included chapters that provide tips for improving communication skills which will, in turn, impact social skills. You will discover the secrets of constructive conflict-resolution and problem-solving. I will guide you through easy ways to instill self-discipline, which will have an impact on you and your children's daily life. You will also learn how to master the skills needed for true teamwork.

By following the easy guidelines given in this book, you will uncover the master key that will allow you to unlock the secrets to you and your children's successful potential. You are well on your way to being a life-coach to yourself and your children.

Step 6: Combining emotional and social health to promote success

In this step, we revisit the issue of success. You will see how your emotional, social and spiritual well-being help you on your way to success.

Step 7: Monitoring your behavior and how it affects you and those around you

In this step, I show you how to monitor your newly acquired behavior so that you have awareness of how it affects your life and the lives of those around you.

Step 8: Modifying your goals and behaviors

During this step, you will learn how to modify your goals and behaviors based on the principles you have learned thus far in the pyramid. As you achieve your goals, you will develop and work toward new goals. This ill help you achieve the ultimate goal of reaching your full success potential.

Step 9: Full success potential

When you and your children reach this step, you will feel educated, enlightened and empowered to achieve your greatest happiness and success in life.
